Enfeksiyon Hastalıkları ve Klinik Mikrobiyoloji Anabilim Dalı

General Information

Our hospital provides services in the field of Infectious Diseases through outpatient clinics and inpatient wards. The Department of Infectious Diseases specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of diseases caused by microorganisms such as bacteria, viruses, parasites, and fungi. Patients are followed and treated in the outpatient clinic, and if necessary, hospitalized for further care. The department also offers consultation services for patients hospitalized in other units. In addition to clinical follow-up, intensive care ward rounds are conducted twice a week across the hospital. For diagnostic and monitoring purposes, clinical microbiology laboratory tests are performed to identify causative microorganisms, including bacteriology, virology, mycology, parasitology, and serology.

To prevent hospital-acquired infections, an Infection Control Committee (ICC) operates within the hospital, developing strategic measures and implementing preventive actions. Infection control nurses conduct daily surveillance and monitor critical areas such as intensive care units, sterilization and disinfection units, operating rooms, and delivery rooms. Hospital-wide infection control training sessions are held regularly, and committee meetings are conducted at scheduled intervals.
